The call for the 12th annual edition of the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation’s Sozopol Fiction Seminars is approaching, with five English-language and five Bulgarian-language fellows to be accepted from applicants that send their materials in by February 25. It’s an incredible program in an incredible place, with everything paid except 50% of travel expenses.
This year’s seminar is a creative writing edition titled “Writing About Immigration” and features guest lecturers, novelist Christopher Castellani and poet and writer Kapka Kassabova. Writer Andrew Cowan will be instructor for the English-language fellows while Virginia Zaharieva, author of the outstanding novel 9 Rabbits, will instruct the Bulgarians.
The seminars take place June 13-17 in Sozopol on the Black Sea as well as in Sofia.
