To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the fall of various walls and a curtain, B O D Y editors Jan Zikmund and myself are publishing short stories from liberated but hardly problem-liberated Central Europe. It begins with an introduction, as most things do.
There will also be some reviews of short story collections to give our devoted readers an idea of what’s available in Central European short stories in English translation.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the consent of the fantastic writers and the work of the equally fantastic translators, because without them in particular the odds that any of you would be able to read stories written in Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Croatian is, I calculate…%0.0001. So thank you and we hope you enjoy the next three weeks.
