
Anasoft Litera has announced its 10 finalists for the 12th year of Slovakia’s most prestigious literary award. The finalists were chosen from 227 books, the highest number to date, and the winner of the 10,000 euro prize will be announced at the beginning of September.
The finalists include Ondrej Štefánik for I, Paula (Som Paula), an excerpt from which will appear shortly in B O D Y. You can read two of his brilliant short stories in B O D Y translated by Maria Modrovich and Janet Livingstone respectively here and here.
Other B O D Y writers named as finalists are Viťo Staviarsky for The Journey of Rinaldo (Rinaldova cesta) and Juraj Bindzár for Silently and Shortly (Mlčky a krátko). Read excerpts from Staviarsky’s Dark Shoes here and Bindzár’s Dance With The Dead Maidservant here.
