So begins Balla’s short story “Paper Planes“, translated from the Slovak by Julia and Peter Sherwood in B O D Y’s most recent Saturday European Fiction.
It was in 2013 that we first published an excerpt from Balla’s novel In the Name of the Father, which was just published last year by Jantar Publishing and named among World Literature Today’s Notable Translations of 2017.
