Writing the Balkans’ Holocaust

On Thursday Sept. 27 at Waterstones Nottingham, publisher and translator Susan Curtis of Istros Books will be in conversation with translator Christina Pribićević-Zorić in a discussion titled “The End of the World? How the Balkans writes the Holocaust”.

The occasion is the upcoming publication of the novel Doppelgänger by Daša Drndić in mid-October, translated into English by Curtis and Celia Hawkesworth. The discussion will also cover The House of Remembering & Forgetting by Filip David, translated into English by Pribićević-Zorić and published by Istros Books in 2017.

B O D Y is publishing an excerpt from Doppelgänger in this weekend’s Saturday European Fiction.
