“Have I told you the story about the guy who butchered hogs?”

“Which guy?”

“The one who was in the Foreign Legion. Have I told you that one?”

“Is it for real?”

And so starts the very short story, “One Big Mess” by Croatian writer and author of Our Man in Iraq Robert Perišić in a translation by Will Firth. B O D Y previously published another short piece by the writer titled “All Courses Start In The Fall”. His novel, Our Man in Iraq, a bestseller in Croatia when it was published in 2008, came out in Will Firth’s English translation in the UK in 2012 and in the US the following year.
