All this week B O D Y will be presenting the writing and photography of Sándor Jászberényi, whose short story collection The Devil is a Black Dog is coming out December 9 in an English translation by M. Henderson Ellis courtesy of New Europe Books.
Today’s selection is the book’s title story, a chilling piece set in a Yemen riven by civil strife and something even worse.
Stay tuned for two more stories from the book, set in Gaza and on the Sudanese frontier, along with a review of the collection. You can also check out the two Jászberényi stories published in B O D Y in 2013, as well as other work in the “read more” links at the bottom of the page.
